Gambia Excursions

West African Tours offer an extensive programme of tours to enable you to enjoy every aspect of this wonderful country and take home more than just a memory of your hotel. Excursions can only be booked in The Gambia via your travel rep and payment is accepted in local currency, Pounds Sterling or by C.C.

During May-October our services are streamlined due to reduced numbers, so not all excursions are available. All our excursions are operated by professional and experienced guides able to give you a knowledgeable insight into the real Gambia experience. In some instances numbers are strictly limited to ensure a high level of personal services so we recommend booking early.

Please bear in mind that in Africa the weather, public holidays and local conditions are not always predictable and can cause delays and changes to planned routes.

Here are a few holiday tips to help you make the most out of your excursion.

• Dress in comfortable, lightweight clothing and for ladies be aware that this is a Muslim country and that bare shoulders and legs may cause offence especially away from the main tourist spots.
• We suggest that you travel with a bottle of water.
• Take sunscreen, insect repellant and loo paper.
• Do not forget hats and sunglasses
• For two day plus excursions take the minimum luggage, flashlight and a light sweatshirt for early mornings and evenings.
• Wear sensible shoes for walking
