Gambian Night Extravaganza

Evening trip

We leave the hotels around 17:30 hrs to arrive at the renowned Makasutu Base Camp for around 18:30 hrs. The whole location is lit by lanterns and camp fires to create a magical setting.

The traditional welcome brings us to an open-air bar and snacks are available on arrival. We shall be entertained after this by the gentle music of the Kora, the 21-stringed traditional after this by the gentle musical instrument producing harp-liked music along with the balaphone, another traditional West African Instrument, reputed to be the forerunner of the European xylophone. Some different drumming accompaniment helps to set the scene.

A West African tea ceremony – is a traditional event not to be missed

This continues through a magnificent BBQ dinner consisting of Kebabs of beef, chicken, fish over a charcoal grill accompanied by a good selection of fresh market vegetables and fruit of the season. Will be included with the meal after which the cash bar will be available.

As the nutritious part of the evening comes to a close we are transported into the world of African Carnival where we are surrounded by FIRE EATERS, ACROBATS, FORTUNE TELLERS, JUGGLERS AND MUCH MORE!!!

Not only will we be surrounded but also we can be involved as much as we wish to be. Want to Limbo dance? Learn your future? The choice is with everyone. Mingle and be part of the performance. PARTY PARTY PARTY until we leave this fantastic venue to be back at the hotels around 23:00hrs.

THE NIGHT WILL STAY IN THE MEMORY FOREVER
